Life List #14: Hike to the summit of all 52 Colorado 14,000 ft peaks. (current count: 30)

A summary of my summer mountain adventures!

First peak of the season: Adrienne and I jumping over the summit of San Luis (#26).

Over the weekend of my birthday, we got a group to do a 2-for-1. Here is my Dad and I toward the peak of Whetterhorn (#27).

And here we are on top of Uncompadgre (#28), where I turned 25.

The last hikes of the season where two of the hardest climbs we have attempted yet, but we made it! Here we are on top of Challenger (#29), with Kit Carson in the background (#30).

It's been a great 14er season! Can't wait until next year to bag some more.

Is it fall yet?


This of course is the reason I did so poorly living in it's-always-sunny-California; I love the season changes. And I have the season change bug again... I'm dreaming of leaves and blue sky and colder weather and long sleeves and scarves. I'm looking forward to starting up on that sweater again, a mug of cider or two, and curling up with a good book I don't seem to have enough time to read.
