Sending love and comfort and joy to you and yours this holiday season! We are off to the mountains to hole up in a cabin for several days, only venturing out for snowshoeing and hot springs. We are truly blessed and so happy to know you. Sending hugs and hoping to see you soon,
the Doormice.

big snowy owl
Two good friends of mine recently got a house, and immediately made it their own with a purple accent wall, a tree of art, and a reading corner with a shag rug. In the reading corner, on a tree of shelves, sit some little owls, which they said were inspired by the owl fireplace at my Grandma's Ranch. So, when I saw this pattern, I cast on to knit if for them before even stopping to think.
In Wool-Ease Thick and Quick on two circular 13s, this went together quickly and beautify. Just give this guy a big squeeze and try not to smile. It's impossible.

minion!
This is my cousin Dave
Have you seen Despicable Me? Go rent it, now. I'll wait. Okay, now you can appreciate this, and how fluffy it is!
This is for Eric. His birthday is coming up, and I bonded with all of Ben's siblings over Christmas by watching the water tank scene in the beginning over and over again. Seriously, it's funny every time.
Made from the kat crafts pattern, with just a few modifications and super saver yarn. I used a chain st crochet for the mouth and sewed it on, I found some shiny buttons and painted the eyes to produce a goggle effect, I made the arms and feet a little thicker (CO4, CO5, resp), sewed the feet on a little higher so he could stand on his own, and stuffed him full of dryer sheets because it was all I had on hand.
It's the start of a many minion army!

kitty
For Charee

This was my first stuffed animal project, made from the Knitty "Kate" pattern. He came out a bit differently than I expected- do his ears seem a bit large for a kitty? But overall, he knit up fast on DP8s and turned out very squishy and lovable. My brothers girlfriend, Charee, was delighted, and named him BeauBo.
