thirty two and three

The Castle Conundrum

This weekend was a two-fer: Castle (14,265 ft) and neighboring Conundrum (14,060 ft). Here is my Dad and I jumping on top of Castle with the Elk Range Peaks behind us. We left base camp at 6am, summited by 9am, then down to the ridge and over to Conundrum by noon:

Here I am on Conundrum Peak, looking back toward Castle. The hike down only took us an hour: see that snow filling the basin? Yes, we slid all the way down it on our butts.
