Life List # 42: Go to all the world's most famous frisbee tournaments.

Check one of the list: The world's biggest beach ultimate frisbee tournament in WILDWOOD, NJ.

Where we played with a Lafayette alum team and went to finals in our bracket. We were rocking, and raging, all weekend long. Awesome friends diner food good fun much beer very little sleep frisbee in the sun and sand + ocean.

It was so wonderful to see all our friends, it was like continuing the wedding celebration all over again!

The Castle Conundrum

This weekend was a two-fer: Castle (14,265 ft) and neighboring Conundrum (14,060 ft). Here is my Dad and I jumping on top of Castle with the Elk Range Peaks behind us. We left base camp at 6am, summited by 9am, then down to the ridge and over to Conundrum by noon:

Here I am on Conundrum Peak, looking back toward Castle. The hike down only took us an hour: see that snow filling the basin? Yes, we slid all the way down it on our butts.

Pikes Peak - 14,110 ft

This weekend, I accomplished number 31 of my life list to hike to the top of all the 14,000 ft mountains in Colorado. This hike, Pike's Peak, we expected to be somewhat of a punishment, since there is a railway that takes batches of tourists all the way to the summit every 3 hours. But it was actually very rewarding to have a hot lunch at the summit restaurant after 5 hours of steep hiking and boulder hoping. The devil's playground was beautiful to hike through, and at only 2 hour drive out of Denver, this mountain is well worth the climb!

Honeymoon socks!

Originally I was told to expect a 30 hr plain flight to my mystery honeymoon, so I planned a whole project for the flight. Something nice and compact, on size 1 needles and bright yarn. As it turned out, it would only be about 3 hours each way, so I only got one sock done.

I love this pattern; sunday swing from knitty. The some-what lace pattern is easy to follow, and highlights the color change of the hand-dyed yarn.

The pattern of the yarn reminds me of the sandy beaches outside San Jose del Cabo, the ocean of Cabo Pumo, and the twists of the ocean carved rocks at Land’s End.
